Dont worry these are all optional changes There is nothing you have to change to make the mouse work The mouse will run as usual!!
The devs have been working hard again, and after the successfull testing of our https we are giving you an option in your profile to set a force SSL/TLS connection on either the website or the tracker or both!!
We are giving the members time to set the defaults So tracker option backend will go live in a few hours, and browsing will go live sometime next week!
The default settings will make no difference to your current settings and habits, so if you are happy the way you browse and use our tracker you dont need to touch a thing
How it works:
If you set the browsing option to:
"Always HTTPS" - you will always be moved to a SSL/TLS HTTPS connection, no matter what link you follow or what you type in.
"Always HTTP" - you will always be moved to a standard HTTP connection, no matter what link you follow or what you type in.
"Use Both" - you will be able to set either HTTPS or HTTP manually
If you set the tracker option to:
"Use HTTPS" - your tracker announce will always be HTTPS
"Use HTTP" - your tracker announce will always be HTTP
(please note previously downloaded torrents will not change their announces you will have to change this manually)
We have tested the https as thoroughly as possible but we still might have missed something So if you find any problems please do let us know so that we can fix it as soon as possible!!
What is HTTPS?
A simplified explanation:
HTTPS (HTTP over SSL or HTTP Secure) is the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) as a sublayer under regular HTTP application layering. HTTPS encrypts and decrypts user page requests as well as the pages that are returned by the Web server. The use of HTTPS protects against eavesdropping and man-in-the-middle attacks.
Please note: Most clients (ie: utorrent) do support https, but if you are getting any errors when switching please let us know and we will post any clients we find that dont support it here!!
As of April 30, 2013, MyAnonamouse.Net will no longer be receiving the donations through Moneybookers, WU and Flattr. Since the site shop now accepts Paypal, they are unnecessary.
Any further donations that are made to Moneybookers, WU and Flattr will not be going to the site. We are sorry if this is an inconvienence for anyone.
If you still have credit in flattr, we will only be accepting till the 13th of May!!
Please contact Staff for further information on how to make donations.
Recent changes to MyAM: An explanation
To all our fantastic Mice,
There have been a lot of assumptions and rumors going around about what is happening to MyAnonmouse. We just want to set it all straight and put your mind to rest.
The previous owner handed the site and server over to a new owner. That would mean that everything should have been switched over to the new owners name. Unfortunately, the previous owner stopped cooperating in the middle of the process and we, as the staff, had to move in a different direction to protect the site and all it stood for.
This is the reason for the new IRC, so that we can continue to support the site in real time, if anyone should need help, or an invitation to the site. We now have full control instead of relying on another servers moderators.
There are changes to the site, yes, but they will not stop following the site's motto: Friendliness, warmth and sharing. We are doing our utmost to improve the site and site experience of all our members here.
We will continue to use the ticker and front page to announce any other changes to keep you all up to date.
We did want you all to know, MyAnonamouse.net is not going anywhere, and we will not change from the friendly site we have always been. The MyAnonamouse.net will just be a stronger community.
If you have any questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to contact the staff through the staff box on the site. You can find this Here
Thank you so much for all your support now and in the future!
